Two confectionery manufacturers with production bases in Niigata Prefecture are jointly transporting their products to the Kanto region using 25-meter double-trailer trucks. From Kanto, they will also transport goods from other industries together, which is expected to have effects such as "a 40% reduction in CO2 emissions" and "a reduction in driver workforce by about half."
<Operation Scheme>

Prior to full-scale operation, trial runs were conducted last year by three confectionery manufacturers, including Kameda Seika. Although there were challenges such as "securing parking spaces at service areas," it was confirmed that the service could be operated without major problems, so full-scale operation of approximately 1.5 round trips per week was implemented.
This is the first initiative of its kind, spearheaded by a company within Niigata Prefecture. As a sustainable logistics model originating from a regional area, the company envisions horizontal expansion to other regions and will continue to collaborate with manufacturers and distributors to build a sustainable and competitive food supply chain.
