On August 6, CBRE announced that it would support Alps Logistics in the sale and leaseback of eight domestic logistics facilities it owns, and that it began undertaking property management services for the leased properties on July 1.
CBRE was commissioned by Alps Logistics to provide advisory services regarding its real estate holdings and developed a strategy that included an asset securitization plan to promote asset-light operations.
Based on this strategy, CBRE's financial services division, Investment Banking, took the lead, working in conjunction with its sales brokerage and logistics facility leasing divisions to support the sale-and-leaseback transaction of eight domestic logistics facilities owned by Alps Logistics. As a result, the properties were sold to a private fund in which it has invested, including Industrial Fund Investment Corporation, a listed real estate investment trust (J-REIT) affiliated with the US investment fund KKR.
This contribution to asset-light by the logistics company follows the announcement in May 2024 of supporting the sale of 32 domestic properties owned by Logisteed .
