At a board meeting held on August 6, Gunze announced that it would consolidate and reorganize its production and logistics bases, including those of its consolidated subsidiaries in the apparel company, and also offer voluntary retirement programs.

In the medium-term management plan "VISION2030 stage2," formulated on May 14, 2025, the company announced its intention to complete structural reforms of its apparel business between 2025 and 2026, and to revitalize it into a business that can sustainably generate profits. This initiative is part of that plan.

At our production facilities, we plan to cease operations at the Yanase Plant and Yabu Apparel (a consolidated subsidiary) by the end of March 2026, and at the end of December of the same year at Tohoku Gunze (a consolidated subsidiary) and Yajima Trading (an unconsolidated subsidiary).

The company will consolidate its domestic innerwear production bases at the Miyazu factory (Kyoto Prefecture), and the functions of the factories that will be closed will be transferred to the Miyazu factory and overseas affiliated factory (Thailand, Vietnam).

Furthermore, Gunze Logistics (a consolidated subsidiary) plans to cease operations at its Kyoto Logistics Center Ayabe Plant by the end of December 2025, and at its Fukuchiyama Plant by the end of December 2026. The functions of the logistics facilities to be closed will be transferred to seven locations of domestic logistics-related companies.

Furthermore, the company plans to support employees working at the factories and logistics facilities that will be closed by assisting them with transfers to other group locations (factories, logistics, etc.) or finding new employment.

In addition, the apparel company will implement the "Next Challenge Program" (voluntary retirement) from October 2025, targeting employees (aged 40 and over) in indirect and sales departments, to support employees in career changes.
