Nippon Express opened its logistics base, "NX Toyokawa Logistics Center," in Toyokawa City, Aichi Prefecture on August 1st.
The facility has a total floor area of 12,976 m2, is a four-story steel-frame building (with three warehouse floors), and is equipped with air conditioning and container loading facilities, as well as being located very close to the Toyokawa Interchange on the Tomei Expressway.
The Higashi-Mikawa area, including Toyokawa City in Aichi Prefecture, is home to a concentration of industries such as the automotive industry and boasts excellent access to Chubu Centrair International Airport and Nagoya Port. However, it has a large area designated as an urban development control zone, resulting in a shortage of large multi-tenant warehouses, hence the construction of this new facility.
We plan to install solar panels on the warehouse roof by 2026, and use the electricity generated within the warehouse to reduce our environmental impact and contribute to our business continuity plan (BCP).
Furthermore, as a facility that realizes efficient and environmentally friendly logistics, it received certification from the Chubu Transport Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism on July 9th under the Comprehensive Logistics Efficiency Improvement Act, and will utilize tax incentives to reduce costs.
