By segment, sales in freight transport increased by 1.4% year-on-year to 57 billion yen, and ordinary profit increased by 85 million yen year-on-year to 215 million yen.
Increased revenue and profits were achieved due to a rise in the volume of material logistics, including the recovery in aluminum material transport, progress in freight rate and fee revisions, and cost reductions resulting from a review of logistics bases implemented in the same period of the previous year.
Sales in the overseas logistics business amounted to 1.368 billion yen (down 3.8%), while ordinary profit increased by 10 million yen compared to the same period last year, reaching 9 million yen.
