According to the first quarter financial results for the fiscal year ending March 2026, announced by SG Holdings on August 8, net sales were 367.404 billion yen (up 9.8% year-on-year), operating profit was 17.454 billion yen (down 10.5%), ordinary profit was 17.878 billion yen (down 8.2%), and net profit attributable to parent company shareholders was 10.15 billion yen (down 18.2%).
In the delivery business segment, sales were 251.707 billion yen (up 1.7%) and operating profit was 13.703 billion yen (down 23.1%).
While the overall number of packages handled decreased, mainly due to a decline in B2C shipments, B2B shipments showed an upward trend, indicating a recovery.
Furthermore, the opening of the "SAGAWA Global EC Center Kansai," a dedicated international cargo center at Kansai International Airport in April, has led to an increase in cross-border e-commerce handling among B4C shipments.
The average unit price increased compared to the same period last year, thanks to continued efforts to collect appropriate fares for each transaction.
The logistics business reported sales of 51.379 billion yen (up 150.1%) and operating profit of 1.974 billion yen (up 121.9%).
Sales increased due to the impact of C&F Logi HD (Meito/Hutech), which has been included in the financial results since the third quarter of the fiscal year ending March 2025. Even excluding the consolidation effect, revenue and profit increased due to the collection of appropriate fees from existing domestic 3PLs and increased productivity.
The global logistics business reported sales of 49.455 billion yen (down 5.6%) and operating profit of 133 million yen (compared to an operating loss of 695 million yen in the same period of the previous year).
Due to factors such as the retention of new customers acquired in the previous consolidated fiscal year, the volume of maritime transport increased, while freight rates remained at the same level as the previous year. Air transport remained stable, although both the volume of transport and freight rates were slightly lower than the previous year, as the impact on performance from avoiding transit through the Red Sea had subsided.
Furthermore, the Global Logistics Business will be a newly established reporting segment from the fiscal year ending March 2026. This segment will include the forwarding business and overseas 3PL business, which were previously classified under the Logistics Business.
For the full year, the company projects net sales of 1,653 billion yen (up 11.7%), operating profit of 92 billion yen (up 4.7%), ordinary profit of 90 billion yen (up 1.3%), and net profit attributable to parent company shareholders of 57 billion yen (down 1.9%).
