DHL Express has purchased 2400 metric tons of SAF from Cathay Pacific for use in operations by Air Hong Kong, Cathay Pacific's cargo airline.

The offer applies to international flights departing from three Asian airports (Narita International Airport, Seoul Incheon International Airport, and Singapore Changi International Airport).

The contract runs until 2025. It is expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 7190 metric tons, which is equivalent to more than 100 flights between Hong Kong and Singapore using an Airbus A330F aircraft.

DHL Express also recently announced that it has joined Cathay Pacific as a strategic partner in the "SAF Program for Corporate Businesses," which Cathay Pacific launched in 2022.

This initiative supports corporate partners in reducing CO2 emissions from business travel and air cargo transport through the use of SAF (Sustainable Air Focus). In 2024, a record 16 companies (including HSBC, AIA, and Standard Chartered) participated, and more than 6000 tons of SAF were used.
