UPR announced organizational changes effective September 1st on August 19th.
The reason for the organizational change is to adapt to the rapidly changing economic environment in recent years and to revise the organizational structure in order to sustainably improve corporate value through strengthening sales and strategic functions, improving the technology development system, and increasing the efficiency of management execution.
The organizational structure will consist of three divisions under the Business Management Headquarters: the Logistics Business Division, the Solutions Business Division, and the Technology Division.
The functions of the Logistics Business Division will be reorganized, with the establishment of a Logistics Strategy Department to strengthen strategic planning capabilities and a Logistics Operations Department to centrally manage and oversee the business infrastructure. In addition, the East and West Area Sales Departments will be integrated, and the sales offices in Niigata, Shizuoka, Shikoku, and Southern Kyushu will be consolidated to create a more efficient sales system. At the same time, a new Wide Area Third Sales Office will be established within the Wide Area and Overseas Sales Department to strengthen and expand wide-area sales that will handle integrated palletization, which is expected to grow in the future.
A new Solutions Business Division will be established to strengthen solution sales aimed at solving customer problems. Under this division, the Logistics IoT Business, Assist Suit Business, ICT Business, and Vehicle Solutions Business will be consolidated and reorganized into the Innovation Business Division and the Vehicle Solutions Business Division.
A new Technology Headquarters will be established, consolidating research and development, DX promotion, and other technology-related departments, and reorganizing them into the Solution Development Department, Advanced Development Department, and DX Promotion Department.
Furthermore, in order to strengthen the function of formulating and promoting company-wide strategies, a new Corporate Planning Division will be established, and under its umbrella, a Corporate Strategy Department will be created in addition to the Corporate Management Department (currently the Corporate Planning Department).
