On August 19, Yamaguchi Sangyo announced the launch of an overseas recruitment business aimed at solving two social issues: the worsening domestic labor shortage and the lack of employment opportunities for young people in Africa and Asian countries.

As a first step, in collaboration with Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, which has a track record in the overseas human resources business, we will begin accepting three highly qualified individuals selected from Kenya into the Yamaguchi Sangyo Group in August 2025. Through their practical work, we aim to build a foundation for our future overseas human resources placement business and accelerate further expansion.

The project, in collaboration with Mitsui O.S.K. Lines and other related companies, is a model for introducing and dispatching highly skilled personnel from overseas to meet the diverse needs of domestic companies. As the initial phase, starting in August 2025, three individuals selected through on-site interviews in Kenya will be accepted into the Yamaguchi Sangyo Group, where they are expected to contribute immediately, utilizing their already acquired expertise. All applicants are university or graduate school graduates and have obtained a Technical, Humanities, and International Services visa (commonly known as "Gijinkoku").

Furthermore, regarding the provision of personnel, we have already obtained licenses for both paid employment placement services and temporary staffing services as of April 2025, and will operate in accordance with the law.

At Yamaguchi Sangyo Group, employees from Myanmar and Taiwan are already playing active roles, and a foundation for members of different nationalities to work together is steadily being established. With the acceptance of Kenyan personnel, we expect to further expand workplace diversity and enhance the organization's creativity and adaptability by incorporating different values and cultural backgrounds.

Based on this experience and track record, we will continue to recruit motivated talent from Kenya and other African countries, as well as from the Asian region, and fully develop our talent placement business for Japanese companies.

In addition, they plan to strengthen cooperation with local businesses and municipalities both within and outside Yamaguchi Prefecture, and promote initiatives to support the lives of foreign residents, provide Japanese language education, and promote multicultural coexistence. Through these efforts, they aim to create a system that brings value to both businesses and local communities.
