On August 20, Hacobu released a case study of Kirin Group Logistics (KGL), which is using the truck reservation service "MOVO Berth" to promote a company-wide project to limit on-site stay time to less than one hour.
<Project to fully launch with the goal of "limiting on-campus stay to less than one hour">

KGL handles the logistics operations for Kirin Group companies such as Kirin Brewery, Kirin Beverage, and Mercian, and distributes Kirin products nationwide. As part of its logistics reform efforts, KGL aims to reduce on-site dwell time to less than one hour and has been using Hacobu's "MOVO Berth" since spring 2024.
"On-site stay" refers to the time a truck spends on the premises of a logistics center from the moment it enters until it leaves. Until now, on-site staff have relied on analog methods such as handwritten records on paper slips and vehicle guidance via radio and telephone, making it difficult to accurately track "on-site stay time" and working time, which has been a challenge.
The introduction of "MOVO Berth" has resulted in significant efficiency improvements, including a 97% reduction in data entry time at one location (from 120 minutes to 4 minutes per day) and a 75% reduction in on-site guidance time (from 200 minutes to 50 minutes). Furthermore, it has become possible to obtain accurate data on dwell time and work time.
Furthermore, in February 2025, we began utilizing "Cross-Location Analytics," a data analysis function of "MOVO Berth," to connect these efforts to company-wide improvement activities across all locations.
<Overview of Cross-Location Analytics>

"Cross-site analytics" is a function that analyzes data from multiple locations, such as waiting times and loading/unloading times, using unified metrics, making it possible to visualize challenges and areas for improvement at each location.

By utilizing analytical functions, they are expanding improvement initiatives that were previously carried out independently at each location into company-wide improvement activities by comparing them across locations. They are also working on considering improvements aimed at maximizing throughput at each location.
