The Japan Packaging Machinery Manufacturers' Association will hold "JAPAN PACK 2025 Japan Packaging Industry Exhibition" from October 7th to 10th at Halls 4-8 of the East Exhibition Hall at Tokyo Big Sight (Ariake, Koto-ku).

With the tagline "BEYOND | Creating the Future of Packaging Together," the exhibition will showcase packaging machinery and materials from Japan and abroad, as well as logistics equipment, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and daily necessities manufacturing machinery, and related services.

Against the backdrop of growing interest in issues such as population decline, labor shortages, and environmental protection, the exhibits cover a wide range of topics, including those related to "labor-saving and efficiency improvements," "reducing logistics and transportation costs," "reducing plastic usage," and "reducing food waste and extending the shelf life of food."

The exhibition will feature 572 companies and organizations (compared to 420 last time) and 2024 booths (compared to 1873 last time), a significant increase from 2023, and is expected to attract 4 visitors.

This 35th edition is unique in that it features "Packaging x DX (Digital Transformation)" and "Packaging x GX (Green Transformation)" as special project themes.

In the DX (Digital Transformation) field, the exhibition will focus on "productivity improvement," "addressing labor shortages," "eliminating reliance on specific individuals and ensuring technology transfer," and "remote maintenance." Seminars will also be held to propose what exhibiting companies can do in the packaging field.

In the GX (Gardening, Xerography, and Graphics) field, we will propose solutions to challenges such as "environmentally conscious design," "energy and resource conservation," "reduction of packaging material usage," and "reduction of food waste."

During the event, the program includes tours of these exhibition booths, as well as lectures by representatives from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, and companies undertaking innovative initiatives.

Prior to the event, the Japan Packaging Machinery Manufacturers' Association held a press conference on August 19 to explain the intentions behind the event and its highlights.

Takuhiro Adachi, Executive Committee Chairman (President of EDM), stated, "The strength of 'JAPAN PACK' lies in the fact that member companies of the Japan Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Association come together to form an executive committee and develop the plan themselves. As people involved in the packaging industry, we can express how we are trying to realize DX and GX, not just as a display of machines, but as a real proposal as a larger solution."

"We also planned events such as multiple companies holding seminars in a relay format, and visitors to related booths for each theme. We want to convey that the packaging industry has more potential for the future than people might imagine."

By highlighting DX and GX, the range of companies and organizations wanting to exhibit has broadened, including digital-related startups and research institutions.
