On July 24, Hirata Transport, in collaboration with the Kasai City Regional Revitalization Center Sora Kasai, held an industrial tourism event called the "Giant Wooden Building Sightseeing Tour."
<A massive wooden warehouse under construction>
The venue is the construction site of "KASAI SUSTAINABLE BASE," a new base being built with the aim of completion by the end of 2025.
This environmentally friendly logistics hub utilizes rainwater reuse and locally sourced timber from Hyogo Prefecture. The wooden warehouse, constructed using a column-free method, measures approximately 78 meters wide, 25 meters deep, and 12 meters high, with an overhang of approximately 8 meters.
<The architect provided a technical explanation regarding the structure, construction methods, etc.>
The tour included commentary, with an architect explaining the construction methods and design that balance strength and beauty while minimizing environmental impact.
Hirata Transport also conveyed their concept of "aiming to be an environmentally friendly, community-based logistics hub that connects to the next generation."
On the day of the event, people from the construction industry and environmentally conscious companies participated and exchanged ideas. Hirata Transport plans to continue holding such tours in the future, and aims to realize environmentally conscious and sustainable logistics.
