NTT QONOQ and DMS announced on August 20th that they have developed a picking assistance application (tentative name) that utilizes wireless XR glasses, and that a field test demonstrated an improvement in work efficiency.
This marks the first instance in the logistics industry of using wirelessly connected XR glasses.

The "Picking Assistance Application" uses wireless XR glasses to assist with the picking process by navigating to the shelf where the item to be picked is stored and clearly indicating the shelf where the item is located.

The equipment used is "MiRZA," a wireless XR glasses compatible with AR/MR. A JAN code representing the picking list is added to the picking list used during work, and QR codes are placed on each shelf in the warehouse in advance. By scanning these with the MiRZA camera, navigation to the location of the items to be picked is displayed through the XR glasses.
In the demonstration experiment, the degree to which work efficiency could be improved by using the "picking assistance application" was verified for workers performing picking operations in warehouses operated by DMS.
As a result, it was found that applications for XR glasses allow users to constantly receive intuitive navigation information while working, improving the work efficiency of less skilled workers by approximately 11%.
In the future, they plan to conduct comparative analysis of work logs with and without glasses for each worker's skill level, as well as collect subjective feedback through surveys of workers, and use this information to improve the application's functionality.
In addition to improving the application, they plan to develop an application that can streamline warehouse operations overall by expanding its use to include receiving and inspection tasks.
■Role of each company
ConoQ: Planning and project management, development of a "picking assistance application" for "MiRZA", and aggregation and analysis of acquired data.
DMS: Provision of demonstration fields, application use by warehouse staff in their work.
