IKEA Japan announced on August 21 that it will open three new product pickup centers (dedicated to oversized deliveries) in Kushiro, Tomakomai, and Obihiro cities in Hokkaido.
In addition, the Asahikawa City receiving center (dedicated to large-sized deliveries), which was established in November 2023, will be relocated.

Furthermore, on August 28th, a center pickup service (for small item deliveries only) will be launched at a total of 126 locations in the Kansai region (Osaka, Hyogo, Wakayama, Nara, Kyoto, Shiga prefectures), Kyushu region (Kumamoto, Kagoshima, Miyazaki prefectures), and Okinawa. This will be the first time that center pickup services will be available in the Kansai and Kyushu/Okinawa regions.
IKEA is expanding its "Center Pickup" service nationwide in cooperation with its business partners.
IKEA will deliver products to nearby pickup centers or Sagawa Express offices, and customers will carry them home themselves. This reduces the burden of last-mile delivery and contributes to environmental protection.
With this new opening, IKEA now has 55 locations for receiving large items and 415 locations for receiving small items in collaboration with Sagawa Express, bringing its total number of product pickup locations nationwide to 470.
