According to the monthly railway transport statistics report for December 2025, released by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism on April 8, the total volume of freight was 3,654,592 tons (a 1.8% increase compared to the same month of the previous year), and the total freight ton-kilometers was 1,611,567,000 ton-kilometers (a 0.6% decrease).
Container cargo volume was 2,019,499 tons (up 4.6%), cargo ton-kilometers were 1,581,077,000 ton-kilometers (down 0.6%), carload cargo volume was 1,424,613 tons (down 1.9%), and cargo ton-kilometers were 119,195,000 ton-kilometers (down 0.5%).
