Sagawa Express, Ctrip, and Japan DX announced on August 22nd that they will begin offering a logistics service in October 2025 that will allow tourists visiting Japan to book and pay for logistics services online before their arrival in the country.
<New service launched for tourists visiting Japan>
Ctrip (Ctrip Group) is a travel service provider headquartered in Shanghai, China.
Japan DX provides a data-driven, comprehensive platform service for inbound tourists visiting Japan.
The three companies signed a strategic partnership agreement in May of this year, and after repeated discussions, they have now developed a new service that will enable tourists to enjoy sightseeing without carrying any luggage.
The service's greatest feature is that travelers can complete everything from booking to paying for luggage delivery on the Ctrip platform before arriving in Japan. Tourists can book luggage delivery in advance, just like they book accommodations, transportation, and tourist attractions.
Furthermore, since baggage labels can be issued based on the QR code provided at the time of booking, there is no need to fill out handwritten shipping labels or interact with counter staff.
Baggage checked in at the counter is delivered based on a prior reservation, saving you the trouble of searching for lockers or luggage storage in an unfamiliar place, allowing you to head straight to your destination hands-free.
The three companies plan to expand their services for inbound tourists by promoting the use of their services through joint promotions and increasing the number of partner locations.
