By implementing "Shippio Cargo," we unified the six different order forms we had with our overseas factories. The day-long data registration and order consolidation process has become dramatically more efficient. All information is now visible on the cloud, allowing stakeholders to understand the situation in real time, reducing inquiries and eliminating reliance on individual expertise. The sharing of accurate information on the system has also facilitated smoother communication with overseas factories, enabling more substantive dialogue.

To achieve its goal of doubling overseas sales, as outlined in its medium-term management plan, YKK AP is aiming to build a robust logistics infrastructure. Under the leadership of Chief Logistics Officer Iwasaki, the company is redefining logistics not merely as a cost, but as a crucial function supporting business growth, and is advancing reforms accordingly.

In the field of international trade, managing complex information through inefficient and person-dependent business processes has been a long-standing challenge. Therefore, they were looking for a tool that could provide rapid situational awareness, including at overseas locations, and advanced trade operations management. The fact that international logistics expertise is integrated into the service's business processes, that ship schedules can be accurately tracked, and that there is a thorough support system were the deciding factors in adopting "Shippio Cargo."

Minoru Iwasaki, CLO and General Manager of Logistics at YKK AP, stated, "We have set an ambitious goal of doubling our overseas sales by 2030. To achieve this, it is essential to move away from the 'we make the product, and leave the rest to you' approach to logistics and to reform the entire supply chain to optimize it. With the introduction of Shippio, our international logistics operations are already beginning to change dramatically. Going forward, we plan to expand this success to our overseas bases in Taiwan and Indonesia and utilize Shippio in a more applied way. We strongly expect Shippio to be a 'strategic partner' that goes beyond simply providing a tool, working with our IT team to leverage data and create the future of the supply chain, and to be at the core of our challenge."
