On August 28, NAVITIME Japan added a "route editing function" to the web version and a "route sharing function" to the smartphone app to its truck-specific car navigation app, "Truck Car Navi by NAVITIME".
After searching for a route, users can now drag and drop the route line on the map, allowing them to edit the route as needed to match the roads and intersections they want to pass through.
Edited routes can be shared with the "Truck Car Navigation" app. By scanning the sharing URL with a smartphone, the "Truck Car Navigation" app will recreate that route and provide navigation.
In addition to traffic regulations, it's now possible to easily create routes that take into account local traffic conditions, as well as routes tailored to the needs of the transportation company and the preferences of the drivers. Furthermore, it's now possible for dispatch managers to create routes on the website and share them with drivers.
