On September 2nd, Kantsu entered into a capital and business alliance with Cake.jp, which operates the online cake shop "Cake.jp".
Through this partnership, we will build a common logistics infrastructure for the industry, "Cake.jp Sweets BASE," to support the expansion of sales channels and the improvement of operational efficiency for sweets businesses nationwide.
This partnership aims to co-create industry-specific logistics infrastructure to address the challenges arising in the rapidly growing frozen dessert market.
Through this partnership, we will build "Thomas for Sweets," a WMS solution optimized for the sweets industry using "Cloud Thomas," a cloud-based WMS provided by Kantsu, and promote its implementation, primarily among Cake.jp member stores, to support efficiency improvements in the industry.
Furthermore, utilizing Kantsu's logistics infrastructure, "Cake.jp Sweets BASE" is scheduled to begin operations in August 2026 as a fulfillment center specializing in the sweets industry. The aim is to develop a common industry infrastructure that can be used by businesses not affiliated with Cake.jp.
Regarding this partnership, Kantsu President Hisahiro Tatsushiro stated, "Now, as the evolution of freezing technology and the changes in the sweets market intersect, there is a need for cross-industry logistics infrastructure. Through this partnership with Cake.jp, Kantsu will support the future of the sweets industry with 'logistics x technology' and accelerate the provision of value to the growing market."
Moving forward, the two companies aim to have more than 10 companies adopt "Thomas for Sweets" by 2025 and are preparing for the launch of Cake.jp Sweets BASE. Furthermore, they envision building a comprehensive platform in the future to support the sustainable growth of the entire sweets industry, including raw material procurement, sales promotion, and financial support.
