On September 2nd, Japan Marine United (JMU) delivered the next-generation energy-saving bulk carrier "JESSICA W," which had been built at its Kure shipyard in Hiroshima Prefecture.
"JESSICA W" is the 18th vessel of the "J-Series 82400 DWT type," a further development of the "G-Series 80800 DWT type," which was developed as the next generation of Panamax bulk carriers.
Incorporating the latest regulations, such as NOx (nitrogen oxide) emission restrictions, JMU's unique energy-saving technologies enable both increased cargo capacity and reduced fuel consumption.
The company has reached Phase 2 of the Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI), a greenhouse gas (GHG) emission regulation, demonstrating its commitment to environmental needs.
