Shippio announced on September 8th that it has launched "Shippio Clear," an AI-powered cloud service for customs clearance operations, starting in September.
This will streamline customs clearance operations and provide an environment where customs brokers can focus on tasks that better utilize their expertise.

"Shippio Clear" is a cloud service that uses AI to streamline customs clearance operations. In a joint verification conducted with Kyowa Kaiun, a Shippio group company, the implementation resulted in an efficiency improvement of approximately 7% across the entire customs clearance process.
The AI OCR function achieves a reading accuracy of 97% even for trade documents with inconsistent formats. It also features automatic calculation of each item and total quantity, as well as accuracy verification functions, significantly reducing manual transcription errors and the time required for double-checking.
Furthermore, the registered data is automatically converted into the NACCS (Import/Export and Port-Related Information Processing System) declaration form format, allowing all necessary items for declaration, including HS codes and origin information, to be output with a single click. In addition, the use of past performance data accumulated in the cloud will lead to further operational efficiency improvements.

By integrating with Shippio's trade management clouds, "Shippio Works" (for logistics companies) and "Shippio Cargo" (for shippers), it becomes possible to complete everything from managing trade cases to customs clearance on the Shippio cloud, which is expected to lead to further efficiency improvements, including reduced communication costs.
