On September 9th, Hakobel released a case study of its implementation at Kokuyo Logitem's Kanagawa Distribution Center, utilizing its berth management system, "Truck Log."
Before relocating, Kokuyo Logitem's Kanagawa Distribution Center was located on the fourth floor of a multi-tenant logistics facility. However, the process of truck drivers having to travel back and forth between the reception area on the fourth floor and the waiting area on the first floor had become a burden and a problem.
Therefore, around 2019, the company introduced "Truck Log" to accurately understand the current situation in order to improve the working conditions for drivers who were working long hours. KOKUYO LOGITEM handles office furniture, and the volume of goods fluctuates greatly depending on the time of year. Each logistics center has its own unique characteristics, so they chose "Truck Log" because of its high degree of customizability.
As a result, the remote reception function eliminated the need to go up to the 4th floor for reception. This reduced the burden on drivers and eliminated congestion while waiting for reception.
Following the relocation, a reservation system was also introduced to prevent congestion during receiving times, reduce the burden on the logistics center, and further reduce driver waiting times.
Furthermore, the introduction of the system has made it easier for the logistics center to plan its work schedule by allowing them to know in advance when deliveries will be received at each time of day. In addition, it has reduced the burden on the logistics center by enabling them to call trucks with the push of a button.
KOKUYO LOGITEM will continue to utilize "Truck Log" and work with Hakobel to improve operational issues such as "data not being collected accurately due to human error."
