Starting September 16th, T2, in collaboration with Toray, will begin a demonstration of trunk line transportation using T2's autonomous trucks on a section of expressway between the Kanto and Kansai regions.

The demonstration will involve introducing T2 autonomous trucks to transport Toray products and verifying whether a sustainable logistics system can be established. The route will cover approximately 440 kilometers, from the Ayase Smart Interchange on the Tomei Expressway (Kanagawa Prefecture) to the Ibaraki Senteiji Interchange on the Shin-Meishin Expressway (Osaka Prefecture), and a total of four demonstrations are planned between September 16, 2025 and April 2026.
At T2, with the goal of starting trunk line transportation using Level 4 autonomous trucks from 2027, commercial operations with Level 2 autonomous trucks began in July 2025. In this demonstration, similarly, Level 2 autonomous driving will be used to transport Toray's ABS resin "Toyolac" from Toray's Chiba Plant to the Shibusawa Warehouse Ibaraki Sales Office, a logistics hub in the Kansai region.

Furthermore, this demonstration will utilize a framework agreed upon by T2 with seven companies in the petroleum industry to expand the use of carbon-neutral fuels (CN fuels), receiving "B5 diesel fuel" from Usami Oil and Sanwa Energy, and "renewable diesel fuel" from Itochu Enex.

"B5 diesel fuel" is a low-carbon fuel made by blending diesel fuel with less than 5% biodiesel fuel. "Renewable diesel fuel" is a next-generation diesel fuel that uses waste cooking oil and waste animal and vegetable oils as its main raw materials and is expected to reduce CO2 emissions by virtually 100%.
Furthermore, since this initiative has been selected for the Tokyo Metropolitan Government's "Early Social Implementation Support Project for the Creation of GX-Related Industries," T2 will receive support from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and will begin experimentally using the above-mentioned fuel from 2025 to improve its refueling operations.
