This agreement aims to promote the international utilization of hydrogen, transcending national and industrial boundaries, and to build a highly economical hydrogen supply chain by combining the demands of Japan and Germany. It was signed at the Ministerial Meeting on Hydrogen hosted by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
The company plans to further advance the practical application and commercialization of international hydrogen transport in various industrial sectors, including ports and logistics, mobility including commercial vehicles, and power generation.
Together with many "partners," including the companies with which it has signed memorandums of understanding, the company will work on developing a hydrogen supply chain that is expected to expand gradually from the early 2030s, and on the social implementation of hydrogen in Japan and Germany.
The company stated that it will continue to participate in creating a "new hydrogen corridor" that connects demand in both Japan and Europe, thereby accelerating the international expansion of its hydrogen-related businesses and contributing to the achievement of global carbon neutrality targets and the realization of a decarbonized society for a sustainable future.
