Daybreak, a company that plans and develops products using special freezing technology and operates a platform for high-quality frozen products, announced on September 19th that it has begun selling its frozen sushi at Mitsuwa Market Place stores in Hawaii, a major US supermarket chain.

Mitsuwa Marketplace began selling the product at its Northridge and San Gabriel stores in California in June, and Hawaii will be its fifth store location.
The success of selling frozen sushi in the United States is the result of product development that considers the entire distribution process, including manufacturing, transportation, storage, and store operations, such as developing a recipe for "frozen sushi that maintains its quality even after thawing in the refrigerator" that meets the sales standards of U.S. retailers, and establishing a cold chain.

The frozen sushi is transported by sea via the US West Coast to Hawaii, requiring a longer transit time than ever before. The company says that its ability to maintain quality through a thorough cold chain despite this long-distance and complex logistics environment, along with its strong sales performance at its West Coast stores where sales have already begun and its operational stability, have led to its expansion into Hawaii.
Daybreak will continue to verify quality improvements while expanding its distribution to Mitsuwa Marketplace stores. In addition, it plans to further expand its distribution in the United States by promoting sales channel development in the food service industry.
