Yasuda Warehouse announced on September 22nd that it has introduced and put into operation Laputa Robotics' collaborative picking assist robot, "Laputa PA-AMR (Autonomous Mobile Robot)," at its Daikoku Distribution Center in Yokohama City. This is the second time that Yasuda Warehouse has introduced this type of robot to one of its logistics bases, following its Atsugi Sales Office in Isehara City, Kanagawa Prefecture.

In 2023, the Laputa PA-AMR was introduced at the Atsugi sales office. Based on the results, such as increased efficiency and labor savings in warehouse operations, the decision was made to introduce it at the Daikoku Distribution Center.
Prior to implementation, a Proof of Concept (PoC) was conducted in the actual work environment to optimize picking operations, thereby creating a more efficient work system. Compared to before implementation, it is now possible to process tasks stably with fewer people and in less time, resulting in improved work efficiency and reduced workload.
By shifting the picking process, where worker proficiency directly impacts productivity, to a system where robots issue instructions to humans, and creating a system where standardized results can be consistently achieved regardless of who is on site, stable on-site operations that can adapt to fluctuations in workload while maintaining work quality have become possible.
Furthermore, automating the picking process with the Laputa PA-AMR is expected to double productivity, allowing for flexible reallocation of human resources to other high-value-added tasks and enabling optimal human resource utilization.
