On September 22, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism began accepting applications for the fourth round of the "Project to Promote the Construction of a Last-Mile Relief Supplies Transportation System in Disasters" (a subsidy program), which aims to build a last-mile relief supplies transportation system during disasters through public-private partnerships in relief supplies transportation training. The application period is until October 24.
The subsidies are available to councils composed of local governments and logistics companies.
The program will subsidize up to half of the costs necessary for conducting the training, including planning and production expenses, travel and transportation expenses, honorariums for external experts such as logistics specialists, and equipment rental costs (up to a maximum of 4 million yen).
