Dainippon Paint and Suzuyo Cargo Net began a logistics system using relay transport for long-distance trunk line transportation on August 5th.
Dainippon Paint has endorsed the "White Logistics Promotion Movement," which aims to ensure stable logistics in response to the shortage of truck drivers, and is working to transition to a sustainable logistics system.
Previously, paint was transported via a main line from Osaka to Tochigi, but with this collaboration, Suzuyo Cargo Net's bases in Shizuoka and Nagoya will be utilized as transit points.
This new system aims to optimize operations by dividing the workload on trunk lines and utilizing bases, and is expected to have positive effects on drivers' working conditions, transportation efficiency, and environmental impact.
<Changes from the conventional method due to the establishment of relay points>

By establishing relay points, we have created a system that allows for same-day trips between production and logistics bases located far apart in the east and west, which was previously difficult for drivers to complete on the same day.
In addition, along with the introduction of relay transport, the vehicles were changed from 10-ton trucks to 20-ton trailers. By detaching and swapping the cargo beds, waiting times for shift changes and cargo transfer work have been significantly reduced. Furthermore, the increased volume of transport has greatly improved transport efficiency.
In addition, because the amount transported in a single shipment increases, CO2 emissions are reduced by approximately 38%. This is said to achieve both efficient transportation and a reduction in environmental impact simultaneously.
