On September 25, XYZ Robotics announced that it will begin introducing one of its self-developed devanning robots, "RockyOne," to the logistics facilities of Autobacs Seven, which operates the car lifestyle store "Autobacs," starting in October.
RockyOne is a robot that automates loading and unloading of cargo from containers and trucks in logistics facilities. Equipped with a self-propelled body and robotic arm, it moves around inside containers and performs cargo handling operations unmanned.
RockyOne, which will be introduced at Autobac Seven's logistics facility in Miki City, Hyogo Prefecture, automatically achieves optimal movements through deep learning-based image recognition, a type of artificial intelligence (AI) technology, and robot motion planning technology that eliminates the need for robot motion teaching. It can not only stack items but also automatically generate stacking plans using its unique algorithm.
The maximum load capacity is 30 kg, and it can transport 1 to 4 boxes simultaneously. It can handle loading and unloading 400 to 1200 cases per hour. It achieves weight reduction and cost savings while maintaining the strength necessary for high-speed operation.
In the logistics industry, where labor shortages are becoming increasingly severe, XYZ Robotics aims to improve work efficiency, alleviate labor shortages, and reduce costs by automating tasks around truck berths, such as loading. It is also reported that international logistics companies are already implementing and conducting pilot tests of their technology.
