Otsuka Warehouse announced on September 29 that it has been contracted to handle Fuso Pharmaceutical Industries' nationwide logistics and will begin operations that same month.

Fuso Pharmaceutical Industries is a leading manufacturer of intravenous fluids such as glucose injections and saline solutions, and a top manufacturer of artificial kidney dialysis agents. Logistics outsourcing will begin operations at its Hokkaido base in September and will be gradually expanded.

In recent years, the logistics industry has been required to comply with the Comprehensive Logistics Efficiency Improvement Act, which came into effect in April 2025, and to adhere to the GDP guidelines, which define quality assurance standards for the distribution process of pharmaceuticals. Furthermore, given the chronic labor shortage, it is considered especially important to thoroughly implement business continuity planning (BCP) measures to ensure that pharmaceuticals can be delivered even during disasters.

Against this backdrop, the company decided to outsource its logistics operations with the aim of resolving issues such as labor shortages and establishing a stable supply system for pharmaceuticals.

Otsuka Warehouse stated that, in line with its corporate philosophy, it will continue to strive to build a sustainable logistics system as a manufacturer's logistics company that contributes to a rich and healthy lifestyle.
