On September 29, the Japan Logistics Association held its first meeting of the Management Efficiency Committee for fiscal year 2025.
<Scenes from the Management Efficiency Committee>

The Management Efficiency Committee investigates and examines issues that pose management risks in the logistics industry. It conducts investigations by establishing subcommittees as needed for each theme, such as improving labor productivity, promoting diversity, and crisis management, and also provides information on national policies to member companies.
In the first part of the event, Koichi Takahashi, EX Promotion Section Manager of the Workplace Improvement Promotion Department at Yamato Transport, was invited as a lecturer to give a presentation titled "Yamato Group's Initiatives for the Welfare of People with Disabilities."

In his lecture, Section Chief Takahashi cited data published by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, noting that when looking at disability employment in Japan by industry, the "transportation and postal services" sector exceeded the overall figures (2.41% and 46.0%) in both the actual employment rate (2.45%) and the percentage of companies meeting the legally mandated employment rate (52.6%). He then went on to explain in detail the future trends of the legally mandated employment rate and the penalties for failing to meet it, stating that employing people with disabilities is no longer merely a legally mandated "obligation," but has become an important "management strategy" indispensable for the sustainable growth and strengthening of competitiveness of companies.
In the second part of the committee meeting, the activities for the first half of fiscal year 2025 were reported, including participation in the "Study Group on Comprehensive Logistics Policy Outline for Fiscal Year 2030," the "Central Council for Improving the Trading Environment and Working Hours in Truck Transportation," the "Public-Private Logistics Standardization Roundtable," and the "Modal Shift Promotion and Standardization Subcommittee," and the secretariat explained the details of these activities.
The draft activity plan for the second half of fiscal year 2025 included continued participation in study groups related to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, as well as proposals from the secretariat to establish an "Advanced Technology Utilization Promotion Information Exchange Meeting (tentative name)" and to conduct facility tours, which were approved as originally proposed.
