The first EV truck introduced by Pal System Chiba is the "ISUZU ELFmio" manufactured by Isuzu Motors. It is equipped with features such as "EDSS" (Driver Abnormality Response System) which detects abnormalities by observing the driver's facial expressions, and can be driven with a regular driver's license.
The vehicle delivery ceremony was attended by Mr. Kohei Nakajima of Isuzu Motors' Metropolitan Area Keiyo Bay Branch and Ms. Sachiko Ishii, Executive Director of Pal System Chiba, among others.
At the vehicle delivery ceremony, Director Ishii stated, "This is the first EV vehicle introduced for delivery trucks at Pal System Chiba, and it will be an exciting first step for our members and staff. We will continue to research and develop our fleet, increasing the number of EVs by 2030, and together with solar panels and the handling of environmentally friendly products, we will comprehensively reduce our environmental impact."
Pal System Chiba decided to introduce the "ISUZU ELFmio" after considering the performance and track record of other EV trucks, including those owned by contracted partner companies, with six units already in use at Pal System Tokyo and two at Pal System Kanagawa.
The group utilizes renewable energy sources primarily for charging its EV trucks. Approximately 7% of the group's distribution and logistics centers use self-generated power sources such as solar power, as well as "Pal System Electricity" supplied by Pal System Electricity.
