On September 30, CNET added a new function to its logistics KPI-focused analysis application, "ci.Himalayas/Compass," which analyzes stockout and unshipped rates, and began offering it to customers.
The app makes it easy for anyone to analyze logistics data stored in the WMS (Warehouse Management System). A new feature allows users to calculate and check the number of out-of-stock and unshipped items if the actual number of shipments falls below the planned number.
By obtaining an indicator that shows the percentage of products that could not be shipped due to stock shortages or other reasons despite receiving orders, we were able to concretely understand the loss of sales opportunities in terms of both monetary value and number of cases.
Furthermore, the aim is to identify the reasons for unshipped items, such as sorting delays or inadequate workflow within the refrigerator, and use this information to improve processes and strengthen temperature control.
In recent years, particularly in the food industry and other logistics sectors, the accuracy of inventory management has become a critical management issue due to increasingly volatile demand and labor shortages.
Even a slight shortage can directly lead to a decline in customer trust and consumer dissatisfaction, and can result in fatal sales opportunities, especially for seasonal products or items with short shelf lives. As a result, there has been a growing need from users for features that analyze the rate of shortages and unshipped items.
CNET says it will continue to provide updates in the future.
