On October 1st, Mitsui Soko Holdings established an "AI Promotion Office" to accelerate the fundamental streamlining of operations and the creation of new customer value through the use of AI technology across the group.

In response to the worsening labor shortage in the logistics industry, the increasing complexity and sophistication of supply chains, and the diversification of customer needs, a new specialized organization has been established. By utilizing AI, routine tasks such as procurement and payment processing will be thoroughly automated and reduced in manpower, creating an environment where employees can concentrate on higher value-added and creative tasks, thereby leading to increased efficiency throughout the business.

Furthermore, we will accelerate the evolution of logistics operations by actively gathering ideas from the field through internal contests and implementing them in our business, as well as creating new services that solve customers' business challenges using AI and data, and actively considering proof-of-concept experiments and collaborative projects with task force teams across group businesses.

Furthermore, by promoting study sessions on AI utilization and sharing of success stories throughout the group, we will foster a proactive attitude towards using AI among group employees and improve their practical skills, thereby building a foundation for continuous innovation.
