In his address at the induction ceremony, President Tsuyoshi Hashimoto emphasized that the rapid progress of the global economy makes it difficult to win in the competition using only traditional methods, and that it is necessary to gradually transform the corporate culture.
On the other hand, he stated that they will continue to cherish the group's good tradition of "respecting each other, avoiding the formation of factions, and engaging in constructive discussions," and that they aim for sustainable growth and increased corporate value while balancing change and tradition.

Furthermore, the Mitsui O.S.K. Lines Group operates over 900 vessels, and while foreign seafarers make up the vast majority of the crew, Japanese seafarers are a valuable asset, accounting for less than 1% of the total. However, the company encouraged the new employees by saying that they possess extensive experience at sea and high-level maritime skills, and that they are expected to play an active role as executives in the future.
Furthermore, the Mitsui O.S.K. Lines Group aims to become a global social infrastructure company, and as its business areas expand, opportunities to interact with non-Japanese speakers both inside and outside the company are increasing. Therefore, the company encouraged employees to dedicate themselves to self-improvement, including improving their language skills, particularly English.
