Kotohira-gu Shrine boasts a long history as the guardian deity of maritime safety, and while officials visit the main shrine every year, this year they climbed the 1368 stone steps to the inner shrine.
Furthermore, in recognition of their donation to the Kotohira-gu Asahi Shrine preservation, repair, and maintenance project through the corporate version of the hometown tax system in fiscal year 2024, an awards ceremony was held at the Kotohira Town Hall, attended by President Soga and other related parties. As a result of this donation, a votive stone bearing the name of Nippon Yusen and the name of its president was erected on the approach to the inner shrine of Kotohira-gu.
