On October 7th, Sankyu opened a new logistics center, the "Sankyu Sanyo-Onoda Logistics Center," in Sanyo-Onoda City, Yamaguchi Prefecture. This will be a dedicated warehouse under a long-term contract with THK, and Sankyu will be responsible for all warehouse management, loading and unloading operations, and packaging.
This center will serve as a warehouse located in front of the THK Yamaguchi factory, consolidating warehouse functions that were previously scattered throughout the surrounding area. Packing operations currently conducted in Kitakyushu will also be transferred there by early 2026, aiming to optimize logistics functions in the western Japan region to support THK's business expansion.
In terms of location, it is within 10km of the THK Yamaguchi factory. It is also close to supplier factories and within 50km of Mojiko Port, an export port, making it easily accessible despite being inland.
The facility is a single-story steel-frame building with a total floor area of approximately 8163 m2, and includes low-level berths and high-level berths equipped with eight dock levelers.
The facility is designed with scalability to flexibly accommodate future business expansion, and the company envisions further utilization of it as a model center incorporating new technologies in the future.
