JR East Smart Logistics will install "Multi-Cube," a multi-functional locker that allows reservations, cashless payments, and multilingual support, at Shin-Osaka Station starting October 14th.
<Multi-Cube>
Multi-Cube is a multi-functional locker that not only provides luggage storage like a regular locker, but also offers locker reservation and same-day delivery to partner hotels in Osaka City. Reservations can be made in advance through the Multi-Cube website, and it is also intended for use by tourists.
While these devices are already installed at major stations in the Tokyo metropolitan area, including those operated by JR East, installations are also underway in the Kansai area. Following five stations on the Keihan Electric Railway (Kyobashi, Nakanoshima, Kitahama, Tenmabashi, and Hirakata-shi) and JR Kyoto Station, this will be the sixth station to receive the device.
JR East Smart Logistics plans to gradually expand the installation area of Multi-Ecube throughout Japan, aiming to deploy 1000 units by the end of fiscal year 2026.
