On October 14th, Every WiLL opened new pick-up locations for its "Toriiku" service, a delivery service that doesn't involve physically delivering packages, in Umeda, Osaka and Kokura, Fukuoka.
Every WiLL is a startup company selected for the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism's "Demonstration Project to Promote the Dissemination of Diverse Receipt Methods, etc."
"Toriiku" is a new "receiving infrastructure" developed with the aim of reducing the burden on delivery drivers and decreasing the number of redeliveries. It delivers packages in bulk to "unmanned receiving spots (Toriiku spots)," and users can pick them up at their own convenience.
A key feature is that users can choose to receive points or gift certificates from the purchasing site each time they receive a package.
As the first phase, a trial operation was conducted at the Kudanshita location in Tokyo from June to August of this year, and hundreds of people used "Toriiku." There were no accidents or troubles, and user satisfaction was high, so as the second phase, it will be expanded to Osaka and Fukuoka.
The spots are all installed in commercial facilities, near train stations, and in residential areas. They are being developed as a new infrastructure connecting the city with e-commerce, and are equipped with access control and security cameras, so women and students can use them with peace of mind.
Every WiLL plans to gradually expand its presence to major cities across Japan, starting with these two locations.
