RoboTruck announced on October 15th that it had been selected for the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism's "Demonstration Project for the Social Implementation of Trunk Line Transportation by Autonomous Driving Trucks."
The company has begun development of a semi-trailer type autonomous truck within a consortium led by ORIX Auto. It will be responsible for the technological development of autonomous trucks.
As a result of this development, we are planning to conduct demonstration runs using autonomous trucks between logistics hubs located near the Shin-Tomei Expressway.
Senko is participating as a logistics company in the adopted consortium, the "L4 Logistics Automated Driving Trailer Promotion Council."
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism is working to address the shortage of truck drivers and improve logistics efficiency by verifying the effectiveness of automating trunk line transportation services using autonomous trucks in improving logistics efficiency and promoting the social implementation of autonomous logistics.
Regarding the subsidy program to support demonstration projects using autonomous trucks conducted by private companies such as logistics companies and autonomous driving technology companies, four projects have been selected: one by the council, one by T2, one by Yamato Transport, and one by Toyota Tsusho. The amount of the grant approved is approximately 444 million yen.
