On August 15, Recruit Group announced the results of its July survey of average hourly wages for part-time and temporary workers, compiled by its research institute, the Jobs Research Center (JBRC).
<Average hourly wage trends in manufacturing, logistics, and cleaning jobs in the three major metropolitan areas (Tokyo metropolitan area, Tokai region, and Kansai region)>

The average hourly wage for manufacturing, logistics, and cleaning jobs in the three major metropolitan areas was 1244 yen (up 3.8% year-on-year). Of these, drivers, delivery drivers, and couriers earned 1244 yen (up 3.6%), medium and large truck drivers earned 1321 yen (down 0.4%), logistics workers earned 1255 yen (up 3.0%), and on-site workers and forklift operators earned 1235 yen (up 3.3%).

The average hourly wage across all industries was 1272 yen in the three major metropolitan areas (up 4.2%), 1311 yen in the Tokyo metropolitan area (up 3.7%), 1194 yen in the Tokai region (up 4.8%), and 1239 yen in the Kansai region (up 4.9%).
The survey extracted job postings for part-time and temporary positions from the recruitment management systems "AirWork Recruitment Management" and "JobOp Recruitment Management" operated by the Recruit Group, and compiled the average hourly wage at the time of posting. Because the scope of data collection changed from April 2025, there will be differences compared to the figures up to March.
