On October 16, Japan Marine United (JMU) delivered the next-generation energy-saving bulk carrier "MOUNT LHOTSE," which it had been building for MI-DAS LINE SA.
The "MOUNT LHOTSE" is a Capesize bulk carrier for the Pacific trade of iron ore and coal, and is the third vessel of the newly designed N211BC series, which follows in the footsteps of the J Series 211BC.
A key feature is the significant improvement in propulsion performance and reduction in fuel consumption achieved through JMU's unique energy-saving equipment. While maintaining the same hull specifications as conventional vessels, it achieves both maintaining deadweight capacity and reducing fuel consumption, incorporating requirements such as achieving EEDI Phase 3 ahead of the 2025 regulations, NOx (nitrogen oxide) emission regulations Tier III, and SOx (sulfur oxide) emission regulations.
