Fukuda & Partners (F&P) announced on October 20th that the first building, "Fukushima Koriyama LL Town Building," of the logistics facility cluster park "Fukushima Koriyama LL Town" that it has been developing in Koriyama City, Fukushima Prefecture, has been completed.
The development project centers around an environmentally friendly logistics facility that combines a "logistics facility" to support people's lives during normal times with a "disaster prevention function" to protect people's lives during disasters.
The name Fukushima Koriyama LL Town embodies two meanings: Logistics (a logistics hub that serves as social infrastructure supporting people's lives) and Life-line (a regional disaster prevention and wide-area disaster prevention cooperation hub that protects people's lives during disasters).

The completed "Fukushima Koriyama LL Town Building" and "Prologis Park Koriyama 1," scheduled for completion in October 2026, will both be build-to-suit (BTS) logistics facilities for Yamato Transport. Currently, construction has already begun on site E, and construction on sites C and D is scheduled to begin in 2026. Development is progressing with the goal of complete completion of the entire logistics facility cluster park in the fall of 2028.
The development will be a joint venture between Fukushima Koriyama LL Town, a group company of F&P, and Prologis, a leading global company in the ownership, operation, and development of logistics real estate. F&P will be responsible for everything from business planning and land acquisition to development design, facility design and supervision, and overall project management, and will proceed with the development with the help of Prologis.
The newly completed "Fukushima Koriyama LL Town Building" will house Yamato Transport and will be used as the "Koriyama Logistics Center" to support local logistics.
Furthermore, F&P, Koriyama City, Yamato Transport, Prologis, and NTT East Japan Fukushima Branch have signed an agreement concerning cooperation in supporting evacuees, designated evacuation centers, and emergency transportation of supplies during disasters. The agreement aims to realize regional disaster prevention through industry-government collaboration by integrating a logistics facility that supports people's lives with disaster prevention functions that protect people's lives, with "Fukushima Koriyama LL Town" as its core.
Based on its experience during the Great East Japan Earthquake, F&P deeply felt the importance of pre-determining roles and cooperation systems in the event of a disaster. Believing that preparedness during peacetime will protect communities and people, the five parties held numerous discussions and reached an agreement. Moving forward, the five parties intend to protect communities during disasters through continuous disaster prevention drills and contribute to wide-area disaster prevention cooperation within Fukushima Prefecture and to national resilience by collaborating with companies and cities possessing diverse expertise.
