On October 21, Konoike Transport announced that its group company, Konoike Air Holdings, had been contracted to provide ground support services (ground handling services) for international scheduled flights at Kagoshima Airport.
The contracted work will cover international scheduled flights of South Korean low-cost carrier Eastar Jet, and operations are scheduled to begin on November 21st.
Konoike Air Holdings opened a "Kagoshima Airport Branch" at Kagoshima Airport in July of this year. The company plans to focus on recruiting and training personnel and respond to the strong demand, including the growth of inbound tourism, in a locally focused manner.
Furthermore, the KONOIKE Group positions airport operations as one of its key businesses, and has 10 group companies operating ground handling services domestically.
Having previously operated at seven domestic airports, including Kansai, Narita, and Haneda airports, this contract for Kagoshima Airport marks the KONOIKE Group's eighth domestic airport.
