On October 21, Hacobu published a case study on its website showing the implementation of its truck reservation service "MOVO Berth" at Hitachi Construction Machinery.

Hitachi Construction Machinery develops, manufactures, sells, and services construction machinery, primarily hydraulic excavators, globally. They have introduced "MOVO Berth" at their locations throughout Japan, including their mother factory in Tsuchiura City, Ibaraki Prefecture. This has led to the achievement of zero waiting vehicles and the standardization of logistics operations.

Hitachi Construction Machinery handles a wide range of logistics operations, from parts procurement to the shipment of finished machines and overseas exports, at its eight domestic locations. However, it faced challenges such as responding to the need to reduce waiting and handling times due to legal revisions, improving the efficiency of receiving operations, and managing waiting vehicles on-site.

Therefore, they introduced "MOVO Berth" with the aim of reducing waiting times, visualizing logistics data, and improving the efficiency of receiving operations. Visualizing waiting times and dwell time within the premises has solidified the foundation for quantitative evaluation toward compliance with regulations, and has also led to improved receiving efficiency through leveling out arrival times, visualization of necessary berths, personnel, and equipment, elimination of waiting vehicles, and reduction of the burden on on-site staff through camera authentication and paperless operations.

By making it a company-wide project, the implementation at all eight domestic locations was completed in a year and a half. It has attracted attention from within and outside the group as a success story that not only reduced the burden on on-site staff but also led to standardization.
