On October 22, Prologis announced the development of the "Prologis Okazaki Project" in Okazaki City, Aichi Prefecture, which is expected to become the largest logistics hub in the Mikawa region. Within the "Achiwa District Industrial Park," which Okazaki City is developing on an area of approximately 63 hectares, Prologis plans to develop multiple logistics facilities on a site of approximately 180,000 square meters.

In addition to multi-tenant and build-to-suit (BTS) logistics facilities, the company will promote development based on market needs, including the development of functional facilities to accommodate manufacturing industries. They are also considering uses such as offices and data centers upon request, and construction of the first building is scheduled to begin in 2028.
Okazaki City is a core city in Aichi Prefecture with a population of approximately 38. Along with the neighboring cities of Toyota and Anjo, it is located in one of Japan's leading manufacturing areas, with a concentration of industries including the automotive industry, transportation machinery, and production machinery.
Against this backdrop of regional characteristics, Okazaki City is promoting the development of a new industrial park, the "Achiwa District Industrial Park," adjacent to the Tomei Expressway. Prologis was selected as the first company to move into the industrial park and decided to develop the "Prologis Okazaki Project," which will become a hub for advanced logistics facilities.
The development site is located approximately 6 km from the existing Toyota-Higashi Interchange on the Isewangan Expressway and the Okazaki Interchange on the Tomei Expressway. It also boasts excellent access to National Routes 1 and 248. Furthermore, construction is underway on the Okazaki-Achiwa Smart Interchange (tentative name), which will connect directly to the Tomei Expressway, within the industrial park, with the aim of opening in conjunction with the start of operations for the companies that will be moving in.
We can handle wide-area deliveries to major cities throughout Japan, including major cities within the prefecture such as Nagoya, Toyota, and Hamamatsu, as well as to eastern and western areas such as Tokyo (approx. 290km), Osaka (approx. 200km), and Okayama (approx. 350km), and even as far north as Kanazawa (approx. 270km) and Niigata (approx. 480km).
The area surrounding the planned development site has solid ground and the risk of flooding and inundation is extremely low according to hazard maps, making it excellent from the perspective of disaster prevention and business continuity.
The site is scheduled to receive extra-high voltage electricity, making it possible to accommodate applications that require large amounts of power, such as the introduction of large-scale material handling equipment and automated warehouses, and the installation of air conditioning throughout the entire building.
Nesting grounds for birds of prey have been confirmed around the industrial park, and Prologis will establish a biotope within the development site for the purpose of protecting birds from the perspective of biodiversity conservation.
