On October 23, GLP Japan announced that it had begun construction of "GLP Fukuoka IC I," an advanced logistics facility with a total floor area of approximately 96,000 square meters, in Kasuya-machi, Kasuya-gun, Fukuoka Prefecture.

"GLP Fukuoka IC I" is the first building in the "GLP Fukuoka IC Project," which is being developed within the Okuma Nishi Land Readjustment Project area in Kasuya Town. It is scheduled to be completed at the end of July 2027 as a facility exclusively for repeat customers.
This four-story box-type logistics facility employs a rare seismic isolation structure for a logistics facility in the prefecture. This provides excellent business continuity planning (BCP) capabilities, enabling tenant companies to continue operations even in the event of an emergency. The facility had already signed a lease agreement with a repeat customer of GLP Japan before construction began, and the convenient location close to the interchange, GLP Japan's expertise and flexible proposal capabilities, and their track record were highly valued.

The location is ideally situated for wide-area distribution throughout Kyushu, approximately 800 meters from the Fukuoka Interchange (IC), the junction of the Fukuoka Expressway Route 4 Kasuya Line and the Kyushu Expressway. Easy access to National Route 201 allows for delivery to the Fukuoka metropolitan area in about 20 minutes, making it suitable for urban deliveries as well. Numerous logistics facilities are concentrated in the surrounding area, and collaboration with these facilities is expected to improve logistics efficiency and create synergistic effects.
Furthermore, its location approximately 1km from JR Kashii Line/JR Sasaguri Line's "Chōjabaru Station" makes it accessible via public transportation, ensuring a stable workforce. The project anticipates a total occupancy of approximately 1100 people across the three buildings, contributing to local job creation and economic development.
The "GLP Fukuoka IC Project" is a plan to develop three advanced logistics facilities on the same site, and will be GLP Japan's first large-scale development in Kyushu with a total floor area exceeding 150,000 m2. In response to the increasing logistics needs due to the recent increase in volume, the facilities are designed to handle a variety of cargo, including frozen and refrigerated goods, and the remaining two buildings are also receiving strong interest, mainly from industries such as 3PL, wholesale, e-commerce, and frozen/refrigerated goods.
Currently, GLP Japan is developing and operating two logistics facilities in Fukuoka Prefecture, one of which, "GLP Fukuoka Kasuya," is operational in Kasuya Town. In Kumamoto Prefecture, "GLP Kumamoto Otsu" is scheduled for completion at the end of this month, and construction on "GLP Kumamoto Kikuchi" began in July of this year. Including this project, the total floor area of logistics facilities developed and operated by GLP Japan in the Kyushu region will reach approximately 400,000 m2. The project is attracting attention as infrastructure to meet the growing logistics demand in the Kyushu region and is expected to play an important role as a logistics hub in the Kyushu area.
Yoshiyuki Choza, President of GLP Japan, stated, "This facility is the first building in the 'GLP Fukuoka IC Project,' which marks GLP Japan's first large-scale development in Kyushu. We are honored that our repeat customer chose us, appreciating our excellent location near the interchange, state-of-the-art facility specifications, and our track record. In the Fukuoka area, demand for advanced logistics facilities is on the rise due to the expansion of the e-commerce market and the consolidation of manufacturing bases, and the vacancy rate is also on the decline. We are confident that this facility will support the business growth of our tenant companies as a logistics hub that enables efficient distribution throughout Kyushu."
