On April 23, 2024, Komeri announced that it would be developing a large-scale logistics hub in Hashimoto City, Wakayama Prefecture, called the "Komeri (New) Kansai Distribution Center." Construction began in June of the same year, with operations scheduled to commence within fiscal year 2025. The total floor area is 78,884 m2, and the investment amount is approximately 12 billion yen (land, buildings, machinery, equipment, and systems).
Once operational, the center will be the largest of the company group's 12 domestic logistics bases. By introducing a new system aimed at labor-saving and manpower reduction, the company plans to improve the efficiency of on-site and store operations, and further reduce operating costs by spreading these improvements to other centers.
Furthermore, in response to the logistics challenges of 2024, the company's logistics centers are implementing time-specific delivery schedules for their vehicles to reduce waiting times. As part of this effort, they have developed a dedicated app for receiving deliveries, reducing the average waiting time for delivery vehicles from 25 minutes to just 5 minutes.
Furthermore, the company's logistics operations are handled by its consolidated subsidiary, Hokusei Sangyo, with the aim of reducing social costs from production to sales.
