On October 28, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and the Japan Fair Trade Commission conducted the largest-ever joint shipper patrol by truck and logistics inspectors.

This time, G-men from each regional transport bureau and the Okinawa General Bureau gathered in Tokyo. In addition, ahead of the enforcement of the Act on the Proper Operation of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises in Subcontracting (amended Subcontracting Act) in January 2026, the Japan Fair Trade Commission participated in a joint shipper patrol from the perspective of preventing violations by shippers and others.
A joint shipper patrol was conducted by 44 people: 3 from the Japan Fair Trade Commission, 3 from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (Headquarters: Truck and Logistics G-Men), 30 from the Regional Transport Bureaus and the Okinawa General Bureau (Truck and Logistics G-Men), 3 from the Trucking Association (G-Men investigators), and 5 G-Men assistants. In terms of the number of people, the types of members, and the number of people targeted by the patrol, this was the first shipper patrol of this scale since the establishment of the Truck and Logistics G-Men system.
In fiscal year 2025, October and November were designated as "Intensive Monitoring Months," during which efforts were made to "approach" and "request" unscrupulous shippers and prime contractors based on the Freight Trucking Business Act. This time, face-to-face visits were conducted to companies with headquarters or major branches in Tokyo, including those in the "Construction and Civil Engineering," "Steel," "Retail," "Food and Beverage," "Machinery and Chemical Manufacturing," "Prime Trucking Companies," and "Other Logistics Businesses."
Tokyo is home to 44.2% of Japan's largest corporations, and also houses numerous major branches of shippers headquartered in other regions. This time, G-men from each regional transport bureau, who have actually listened to the "voices" of truck operators, will conduct a large-scale joint patrol in Tokyo as an activity to convey those voices to shippers and others in Tokyo, thereby promoting compliance with laws and regulations and raising awareness of the Trucking Act.
