On October 23, Sagawa Global Logistics held its 13th Forklift Contest, in which employees of its group companies participated, at Warehouse No. 312 in Tokyo (Shinagawa Ward).
The annual driving skills contest aims to improve safety awareness, driving techniques, and inspection skills, and also serves to cultivate exemplary personnel at each branch office.

<Ms. Shikita, winner of the Partner Employee category>

This time, 81 people from 9 areas across the country participated in the preliminary rounds, and 16 were selected, along with one person from the group company World Supply, for a total of 17 forklift operators to participate.
In a competition showcasing their level of specialized knowledge and operational skills, Haruyuki Miyagawa won in the employee division and Megumi Shikita won in the partner employee division.
<Practical Examination (Pre-Start Inspection)>

<Practical Examination (Cargo Handling Operations)>

The competition will consist of a written exam in the "academic" section, which will cover relevant laws and regulations, the structure and operation of driving equipment, the structure and operation of cargo handling equipment, and the mechanics necessary for driving.
The "practical skills" portion consisted of two events: the "pre-operation inspection competition," which tested participants' ability to quickly and accurately perform inspections and maintenance within a time limit and their ability to identify defects; and the "cargo handling operation competition," which tested participants' adherence to basic safe driving procedures and high-quality cargo handling.
This year, in a first-of-its-kind initiative, we added loading and unloading goods from trucks as a practical skills assessment item, conducting a test that simulated a more realistic work environment.
